Interior Design · Salt Lake City
Oat & Umber is a full-service interior design studio for homes that prefer warmth to spectacle — linen and walnut, light and shadow.

Philosophy
A home should feel inevitable — as though it could never have been otherwise.
The studio was founded by Lishelle on a simple conviction: that the best rooms are composed, not decorated. Every project begins with long conversations about how you actually live — then builds slowly, in natural materials and a narrow palette, until the house feels like it has always been yours.

Services
We begin at your table, not ours. How you cook, gather, rest, and entertain shapes every decision that follows.
A complete vision for the home — architecture-aware plans, materials, furnishings, and lighting, presented as one coherent whole.
We manage every trade, delivery, and detail to a finished, styled home — down to the last linen napkin. You simply walk in.
One project at a time, taken on by invitation of the calendar.

A note from the founder
I started this studio because I kept walking into beautiful houses that didn’t feel like anyone’s home. Impressive rooms, photographed well — and somehow empty.
I believe warmth is the real luxury. A narrow palette, honest materials, and the patience to wait for the right piece instead of the available one. That’s the whole philosophy. Everything else is listening.
